Brian Pitaniello has been guiding physicians on financial matters for over thirty years. Having started his career advising medical residents at the TTU Health Sciences Center. Many of those residents were challenged with student debt and the anticipation of a sudden transition to substantial income after years of study. That cohort and scores more who have since entrusted Brian with their finances are now approaching retirement.
As he built his practice helping physicians, business owners, executives, and pre-retirees, Brian developed the philosophy that defines his work today. Firmly committed to the financial planning process, Brian believes that solutions come from creating a plan and having the discipline to follow the plan as the years go along. Brian understands that flexibility is needed in the plan as opportunities, as well as tragedies, will face his clients throughout their lifetime. Brian creates a plan based on the goals of his clients but implements solutions that will make sure his clients are creditor protected, maximizes tax savings opportunities and creates liquidity.
What Brian loves most about his work is the ability to work with people on a daily basis, and to help them solve some of the biggest challenges in their lives.
Brian entered the profession in 1990 after graduating from Lubbock Christian University, where he played baseball for 5 years and studied business administration. In 1999, he teamed up with several colleagues to create what would eventually be known as PFG Advisors, a comprehensive financial planning firm unique to the Greater Lubbock region.
Brian stays current with changes in the industry through continuing education. He has earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU ®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC ®), and the Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) designations. Outside of work, he is passionate about baseball and Texas Tech. In 2021, Brian retired from the Board of Lubbock Christian School after serving as Chair for 15 years.
Brian and his wife Tammy were married in 1991 and he counts his family as his greatest blessings. Their oldest and only daughter Brianna is married to Kyle Lair, and they have 2 children, London and Lincoln. Brian and Tammy have 2 sons: Brooks who is married to Audrey and Hunter is married to Karissa. In 2020 Brooks joined his dad in the business as an advisor and Brianna joined to lead the marketing efforts. In 2022 Hunter joined as an advisor and now they have become a family business.
