Brooks T. Pitaniello

Brooks Pitaniello specializes in guiding physicians on every aspect of their personal finances. He works with residents and doctors who live and practice in the Greater Lubbock area.

Deciding to focus on helping a very well-defined group of professionals – doctors- came easily to Brooks, who pursued a career in financial services after watching his father build a business around helping people accomplish their financial goals. “It’s true that many physicians have the opportunity to build significant wealth,” says Brooks. “But with that income comes a responsibility and decision making,” he adds.  “Without sound protection and growth strategies, the income can flow out as fast as it flows in.”  

Physicians’ finances are further challenged by heavy work schedules, which leave little time for people to think about money. “People are working so hard that they can’t find the time to plan for the very thing they are working to accomplish: a future for themselves,” Brooks points out. To Brooks, this is not a deterrent to progress. He applies the same determination he cultivated while playing collegiate level baseball for five years to helping people move toward what is most important to them.

In terms of financial planning philosophy, Brooks takes a comprehensive approach, looking at all areas of a client’s financial picture prior to making a recommendation. Working with physician clients, he knows that finances can become quite complicated – whether it’s managing significant student debt, to saving for life’s bigger goals, like a home purchase, retirement or funding children’s education. Everything is connected, and addressing one issue sometimes impacts another.

As a financial advisor Brooks gets to use his relationship building skills to have positive impact on the medical community. “I consider myself blessed to have had really good relationships throughout my life – whether with my family, in high school, in college or now at work.” He is committed to the relationships he has with people, and that extends to the clients he serves.

Brooks is a graduate of Harding University, where he earned a degree in Business Management. Harding is a private institution dedicated to Christian ideals, at the heart of which is the notion of service. He resides in Lubbock with his wife, Audrey. Outside of work he enjoys playing golf.
